Professor Stewart Harris' radio show, "Your Weekly Constitutional," will now reach audiences in most of Virginia, from Richmond to Bristol, via WVTF's Radio IQ network. The first Radio IQ show, broadcast Sunday, focused on the controversy over medical marijuana in California. Guests included Steve DeAngelo from the Discovery Channel's program "Weed Wars." Harris launched the show on Johnson City's WETS-FM last year.
"Your Weekly Constitutional" has also entered into a partnership with James Madison's Montpelier, the home of the Father of the Constitution, which will underwrite the show.
"I am thrilled to be in partnership with the home of the Father of the Constitution, James Madison's Montpelier," Harris said. "We have added several exciting features in preparation for the WVTF/Radio IQ debut including the 'Madison Minute,' a spot that highlights James Madison's writings on a variety of constitutional subjects; and 'This Week at Montpelier,' a segment that tells listeners about the exciting experiences they can have at James and Dolley Madison's home."
Sean T. O'Brien, executive vice president and chief operating officer at James Madison's Montpelier, said he hopes the show "helps listeners understand what Madison might think about some of the constitutional issues that are debated today in an engaging and approachable way."
