Occasionally, inclement weather will force us to cancel classes, delay the start of classes, or close the school. Delayed starting times, rather than cancellation or closure, is the general practice.
CLASS DELAY: When a class delay is announced, all classes will start later (usually one hour) than scheduled. Staff reporting times also will be delayed unless otherwise noted.
CLASS CANCELLATION: When a class cancellation day is announced, no classes for that day (or specified portion thereof) will be held. Staff will be expected to report as usual or on a delayed basis as noticed.
SCHOOL CLOSURE: When a school closure is announced, the school is officially closed for that day (or specified portion thereof). Classes will not be held, and staff will not be required to report.
Information regarding delay, cancellation, or closure may be obtained after 6:00 a.m. by calling the main school telephone number (276-935-4349) and entering extension 1400. A recorded message will advise you of that day's circumstances. We will also send (before 7:00 a.m., if possible) an email message via "aslall" with notice of class schedule adjustments.
