ASL Criminal Law Society Students Donate to Animal Shelter

GRUNDY, VA (November 29, 2018) – Members of the Appalachian School of Law student chapter of the Criminal Law Society delivered almost 200 pounds of donated dog and cat food to the Buchanan County Animal Shelter from a recent fundraiser for the shelter held on campus. Instead of charging a fee for admission to a Halloween event held at the school for students, the CLS chapter asked for donations of pet food. Sirissa Farias and Waverly Brown, both of whom are ASL second year law students, delivered the pet food to the shelter last week. Ricky Compton, center, who works at the shelter, accepted the donation on behalf of the shelter. Farias noted an additional $230 collected at the event will be donated to the National Humane Society.
