As part of her visit to the Appalachian School of Law, Judge Stephanie Dawn Thacker met with members of the Criminal Law Society on Monday, April 6th for an informal reception focused on criminal law and procedure.
Drawing on her experience with the United States Department of Justice and her service on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, Judge Thacker discussed the various stages of the criminal justice process, offering students a comprehensive perspective on the field.
Following her remarks, students engaged in one-on-one conversations, asking questions and gaining insight into potential career paths in criminal law.
At the conclusion of the event, Criminal Law Society President Sehjal Kaur and Vice President Youalli Hernandez presented Judge Thacker with flowers as a gesture of appreciation.
