Appalachian School of Law Wins Statewide Legal Food Frenzy Law School Division for Fifth Consecutive Year

Appalachian School of Law has once again been named the statewide winner in the Law School division of Virginia’s Legal Food Frenzy, marking the fifth consecutive year the institution has received the honor.

Organized through a partnership between the Virginia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia, and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks, the Legal Food Frenzy is a statewide initiative that brings together members of the legal community to help combat food insecurity across the Commonwealth.

For ASL, the recognition represents more than a competition win. It reflects the school’s continued commitment to service, leadership, and supporting communities throughout Appalachia and Southwest Virginia.

Throughout this year’s Legal Food Frenzy campaign, ASL students, faculty, and staff participated in fundraising efforts and volunteer opportunities benefiting Feeding Southwest Virginia. Members of the ASL community also volunteered during a mobile food pantry distribution in Council, Virginia, helping serve local families in need.

A special recognition goes to Jina Sauls, whose dedication and leadership have helped guide ASL’s Legal Food Frenzy efforts year after year. Through her organization, encouragement, and passion for community service, ASL has continued building a culture of giving back and supporting neighbors across the region.

“We are incredibly proud of the ASL community for continuing to make service a priority,” said ASL leadership. “While we are honored to receive this statewide recognition for the fifth year in a row, the true impact is found in the lives touched through these efforts.”

Appalachian School of Law extends its gratitude to Feeding Southwest Virginia, the Federation of Virginia Food Banks, and the Virginia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division for organizing the Legal Food Frenzy and helping provide critical support to families throughout Virginia.
