As part of her visit to the Appalachian School of Law, Judge Stephanie Dawn Thacker spent the evening of April 7 in the Student Activity Center with students in the ASL Honors Program for an intimate dinner and discussion.
The Honors Program recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement. Incoming students may qualify based on strong LSAT scores and undergraduate performance, while current students may be admitted following their first year by earning a law school GPA of at least 3.4. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.3 or higher to remain in the program.
During the evening, Honors students had the opportunity to engage directly with Judge Thacker in a small group setting, allowing for thoughtful conversation and meaningful insight into her career and her service on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
The dinner, catered by The Shack, provided a welcoming and relaxed environment that fostered connection and mentorship.
Stay tuned as we continue to highlight Judge Thacker’s time on campus throughout the week.
