ASL Student Sarah Akers Completes Harvard Law School Negotiation Certificate During 1L Year

Completing law school is a challenge. Completing additional professional training during your first year of law school is something else entirely.

Appalachian School of Law student Sarah Akers has successfully completed the Negotiation and Dispute Resolution certificate program through Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation.

While adapting to the rigorous demands of legal education and learning to think like a lawyer, Peery pursued the additional credential during what many attorneys consider one of the most demanding periods of legal education. The first year of law school requires students to master new methods of reading, analysis, and communication while adjusting to the expectations of the profession.

By undertaking specialized training in negotiation and dispute resolution, Peery strengthened skills that are essential to effective legal advocacy and conflict resolution. Her commitment to continuing her professional development beyond the classroom reflects the initiative and dedication that define Appalachian School of Law students.

“We are proud of Sarah for pursuing this opportunity and congratulate her on this impressive accomplishment,” said Appalachian School of Law.
