The Appalachian School of Law offers cloud-based printing services to its students, which allows our students to print from any location on or off-campus and pick up those prints from any conveniently located wēpa kiosk.

Printer Information

Locations:
There are four wēpa kiosks in the Law Library. They are located in the Seminar Room, the downstairs photocopy area, the upstairs photocopy area (Room 201), and outside Study Room 213. Printing to the wēpa cloud will allow you to pick up your prints from any of these locations.

Cost:
The cost for printing from a wēpa kiosk is below. Wēpa collects any printing revenue generated by kiosks. You can find their support information below if you have any requests.
Black & White Single Side: $0.09
Black & White Double Side: $0.17
Color Single Side: $0.49
Color Double Side: $0.97

Payment methods:
You can release your documents from any kiosk by paying with:

  • wēpa Account – Upload credit online at wēpa’s website.
  • Credit/Debit Card – Securely pay with a credit or debit card at the kiosk.
    Credit / debit card transactions carry an additional $0.40 per print job convenience fee that is assessed by the credit card company.

How to Print from:

  • Log into a Library desktop computer with your campus credentials.
  • Open your document and from the print menu, choose wēpa BW, wēpa BW Two-Sided, wēpa Color, or wēpa Color Two-Sided.
  • Click Print to send your job to the wēpa print cloud.
  • Visit any wēpa kiosk in the Library and swipe your campus ID or enter your campus credentials to view your print cloud queue.
  • Select the job, and follow the onscreen directions.

Windows Print App

  • The Windows Print App is the most flexible way to print from Windows.
  • Print from any software by choosing File>Print and selecting a wēpa printer.
  • Works with: Windows computers and Surface Pro tablets.
  • For Windows Surface RT or Windows Surface 2 tablet, please use Email-To-Print or Web Upload.

INSTALLATION

  • Open the .msi file to begin installation.
    Software Requirement – .NET 4.5 framework – a prompt will appear to install if not present.
  • Press “Next” and proceed through the installation steps.
  • Accept the terms of the license agreement and choose Next
  • Select the default printer from drop-down menu then ‘Install’. Two-sided printers will print documents on two sides by default. Choose None to retain your current default printer.
  • After the installation completes, press Finish to launch the application.

When the application launches…

  • Select ‘Student’. Click ‘Next’ to proceed.
  • Select Appalachian School of Law
  • Log in with your ASL campus credentials.

HOW TO PRINT

  • From any software that can print, choose File>Print, select a wēpa printer from the drop-down menu, and press Print. If you are not already signed in, a login prompt will appear.
  • A notification window will appear in the lower right near the wēpa icon.
  • Click the wēpa icon to see documents and codes. Remember to just log in at the print station to see all of your documents.

UNINSTALLING

  • Open the‘ Control Panel’ folder then click ‘Programs’. Scroll down and select ‘wepa Print App’ then click ‘Uninstall’ in the top Menu Bar.

Mac Print App

  • The Mac Print App is the most flexible way to print from a Mac.
  • Print from any software by choosing File>Print and selecting a wēpa printer.

INSTALLATION

  • Open the .pkg file to begin the installation. If Gatekeeper is set only to allow from the Mac App Store, right click or control click the .pkg installer to bring up the context menu, select Open, then click Open on the warning dialog.
    Press “Continue” and proceed through the installation steps.
  • Choose Continue and accept the terms of the license agreement.
  • The mac wepa print app will automatically be checked. Choose Continue to proceed in the installation process.
  • Select Install to proceed with the installation process.
  • Launch the application.
  • Select ‘Student’. Click ‘Next’ to proceed.
  • Select Appalachian School of Law.
  • Log in with your ASL campus credentials.

HOW TO PRINT

  • From any software that can print, choose File>Print, select a wēpa printer from the drop-down menu, and press Print. If you are not already signed in, a login prompt will appear.
  • The printer icon will appear in the lower Mac toolbar indicating the document is being processed. When it disappears, a notification window will appear in the top right MenuBar near the wēpa icon indicating the document is uploading/uploaded.
  • Click the wēpa icon to see documents and codes. Remember to just log in at the print station to see all of your documents.

SETTING DEFAULT PRINTER

  • To set the default printer, click the Apple icon in the top right MenuBar, then select ‘System Preferences’, followed by ‘Printers & Scanners’.
  • The default printer will be set to the option previously set before installing the Mac Print App.
  • Select the drop-down menu for ‘Default printer’ and select a wēpa printer so that each time a document is printed the wēpa printer will automatically be selected.

UNINSTALLING

  • The wepa folders will need to be dragged to the trashcan from the ‘Applications’ folder and ‘Library’ folder. Select ‘Go’ in the top left MenuBar and select ‘Applications’ to open the Applications folder. Drag the wepa folder and icon to the ‘Trashcan’. If the following message appears, the Mac Print App will need to be closed. Click the wēpa icon in the top right MenuBar, then the cog in the lower right window, to click ‘Quit’ and close the Mac Print App.
  • Next, select ‘Go’ in the top left MenuBar then ‘Go to Folder’. Type ‘~/Library/Application Support’ and drag the ‘Wepa’ folder to the Trashcan. This will uninstall the mac wepa print app.

  • At print station, log in to your wēpa account by swiping your Student ID or entering your campus credentials.
  • Select your preferred cloud storage provider on the right.
  • Login with your cloud storage credentials. Connect one time to quickly get to your files in the future.
  • Select files to print and edit print settings by selecting the blue Settings icon on the right. Print Settings include black&white and color. Print Setting details are below.
  • Select ‘Done’ when finished.
  • Select ‘Print’ green icon at bottom which will show the amount and pages to be printed.
  • Select Payment Method to begin printing documents.

Copies: Number of Copies (default: 1)
Print Range: All (default) – print all pages | Selected Pages – set page range
Page Handling: Single-sided (default) – print on front side only | Double-sided – print on front & back
Page Orientation: Portrait (default) | Landscape
Color Settings: Black & White (default) – print black and white only | Color – print with color

Your Email
  • Create a new email message. Use your ASL email address to upload to the print queue. If a different email address is used, then you will be considered a ‘Guest’ and the wēpa code provided will be required to print.
  • Enter print@wepanow.com in ‘To:’ field.
  • Attach document(s) to email (File size must not exceed 50MB. Email provider may have file size restrictions as well).
  • If you want the print settings to be black&white and single-sided, you can send teh email immediately
  • If you want to change the print settings, enter in the first line of your email body the words Color and/or Duplex (double-sided). These options will apply to all attached documents.
  • An email reply will appear in your Inbox within minutes. Allow more time for multiple documents or large file sizes. The confirmation email will provide a wēpa code to use at the print station if your ASL email address was not used. If email was sent using your ASL email address, document(s) will be available in your print queue.

PowerPoint Documents

PowerPoint presentations will be printed as Full Page Slides unless specified with one of the below options:

handouts3 or slides3” – Handouts, three per page
handouts4 or slides4” – Handouts, four per page
handouts6 or slides6” – Handouts, six per page

outline” – Outline: all slides in order with outline of text.

  • Insert your USB drive into the wēpa kiosk.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions.
